Transactional SMS Opt-In

Stake-It is a restaurant management platform that enables restaurants to send transactional SMS messages to their customers for reservation confirmations, waitlist notifications, table-ready alerts, and related operational communications.
1. Opt-In Methods
Two categories of users opt-in to receive transactional SMS messages:
Customer Opt-In (Guest Communications)
Customers opt-in through the following methods:
- Reservation Form: When making a reservation through a restaurant's website, customers provide their phone number and consent to receive SMS updates about their reservation.
- Waitlist Sign-Up: When joining a restaurant's waitlist, customers provide their phone number to receive a text notification when their table is ready.
- Event/Catering Inquiries: When submitting event or catering inquiries, customers may provide their phone number to receive SMS updates about their request status.
Staff Opt-In (Management Notifications)
Restaurant staff and managers opt-in to receive SMS notifications through the Stake-It dashboard. In their user profile under My Account → Notifications, staff members:
- Enter their mobile phone number
- Toggle "Enable SMS Notifications" to ON
- Consent timestamp is automatically recorded
Staff notifications include alerts for new reservations, job applications, event inquiries, catering requests, and other operational updates.

9. Message Frequency
Customer Messages
Message frequency varies based on customer activity:
- Reservation customers: Typically 2-4 messages per reservation (confirmation, reminder, follow-up)
- Waitlist customers: Typically 1-2 messages (added confirmation, table ready)
- Event/Catering inquiries: Typically 1-3 messages (confirmation, status updates)
Staff Messages
Staff notification frequency depends on restaurant activity and configured alerts:
- High-volume restaurants: May receive 10-30+ notifications per day
- Lower-volume restaurants: May receive 1-10 notifications per day
- Staff can customize which notification types they receive in their dashboard settings
10. Opt-Out Process
Users can opt out at any time by:
- Replying STOP to any message
- Contacting support at support@stake-it.app
When a user replies STOP, they immediately receive confirmation and are removed from all future transactional SMS communications.
